ProAdvisor Alert! Problems with Enterprise Solution 12.0

There seems to be a problem with the QuickBooks Enterprise Solution 12, which was mailed out to the QuickBooks ProAdvisors in December, 2011.

The disk and material that we received explained to us that we could install the 2012 Premier Accountant and the Enterprise Solutions 12.0. I had no problem installing the Premier edition but the Enterprise would not except my License and Product Number supplied to me by Intuit Canada.

After making sure that the numbers were correct and my dyslexia had not interfered, I tried several times but to no avail. I finally had to call Intuit technical support who after several attempts at fixing this problem, emailed me a link whereby I would be able to download an Intuit site version.

It took me about a half an hour to download the Enterprise Solution 12.0 file, install it and then update it to the latest release – R5P. Depending on the speed of your computer it may not take you as long.

In staying with the Enterprise theme, I was dealing with a client today who just recently updated to the latest Enterprise Solution 12.0, and we came across something that may become a problem for others. This has to do with the Inventory module and I will be bringing it to everyone’s attention, after I test their company file on my computer.

Just in case it takes me a few extra days due to my work schedule, make sure that the Inventory valuation for your Assembled Items has not been increased or even decreased, after you update from Enterprise 10 to 12.0. This would overstate your Inventory Asset on your Balance Sheet and possibly your Cost of Goods Sold on the Profit & Loss.
